Terms of Service

Sofrito is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You may cook recipes, save them, share recipes you author, and use the features we offer. Please don't reverse-engineer, attack, or abuse the service.

When you submit a recipe to the community catalog:

  You confirm the recipe is your own, in the public domain, or that you have the right to share it.

  You agree not to submit recipes copied verbatim from copyrighted cookbooks or publications.
• ·
  You grant Sofrito a non-exclusive license to display the submitted recipe text in the app and on the website, including to other users.
• ·
  We review every submission and may edit, reject, or remove content at our discretion.

Sofrito uses third-party AI services to help generate recipe text, cooking answers, and imagery. AI output can be wrong. Treat AI cooking advice as a suggestion, not a medical or nutritional prescription. Always verify dietary safety against a trusted source if you have a medical condition.

Sofrito's dietary filters are a convenience, not medical advice. Ingredient data, allergen tagging, and nutrition facts are curated from public sources (including USDA FoodData Central) but can contain errors. If you have a severe allergy or a medical condition, always cross-check ingredient lists before cooking.

When you order groceries through Instacart via Sofrito, we receive a commission on qualifying purchases through the Instacart affiliate program. This never changes the price you pay. We disclose this because we believe you should know.

Once you leave Sofrito (e.g., tapping "Order Online" takes you to Instacart), you are subject to that service's own terms and privacy policy.

Sofrito is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it working, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sofrito and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or website.

The iPhone app is licensed (not sold) to you. As required by Apple, the Apple-supplied Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) governs the iPhone app in addition to these terms. Where the two conflict, the Apple EULA controls for the parts of the app that originate from Apple's distribution.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Sofrito's developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in that jurisdiction's competent courts unless a mandatory consumer-protection law in your country grants you the right to bring it elsewhere.

We may update these terms. Continued use of Sofrito after changes means you accept them. Material changes will be noted in the app's changelog.
